05.22.2012 Morning Announcements

The Pittsfield High Chamber Orchestra will have their spring concert tonight at 7 o'clock at St. Steven's Church ..Orchestra members from Herberg Middle School and Kids 4 Harmony will perform with PHS students

Prom tickets are on sale every day AFTER SCHOOL ONLY in Room 128. Ticket sales END today.Class dues must be paid in full to your class advisors BEFORE ticket purchases.

Tickets for the Proteus sping musical "Sweet Charity," which opens on Friday, May 25th, will be on sale during lunch outside the cafeteria. Come out and support your classmates and enjoy the songs, dances, and the story of Charity Hope Valentine! Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for adults and are also available in the main office.

National Honor Society Induction

2012-2013 NHS induction ceremony will be Thursday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the PHS auditorium.

05.04.2012 Morning Announcements

Vision and Hearing screenings for the 9th and 11th grades will begin Monday, May 7th. Students will be screened in the wrestling room and will come directly from their gym class. I already have the roster of names, thanks to Lisa.

If students would bring their eye glasses or wear their contact lenses that wouldbe helpful.

"Field trip forms for the senior class trip on June 4th to Boston are in the main office and in the library. Please fill out form, have parent or guardian sign it and return form to either the main office or the library. In order to attend the senior class trip you must be eligible and have class dues paid in full. Forms will not be accepted after May 21st."

In sports yesterday: PHS track meet against Hoosac - Boys 94 - 47 Keiland Cross won the high jump and Dan Brien won the 800 and 1,600. Matt Gilmore got his first career win in the long jump..the girls got wins from eight different individuals..

Girl's lacrosse Pittsfield 9 Wahconah 7..Jen Ogle scored six goals to lead Pittsfield to the win.

National Day of Silence will be observed at PHS on Friday The National Day of Silence Project is a national student-led action to protest the discrimination, harassment and abuse faced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning. On the Day of Silence, rather than speaking, participants hand out "speaking cards" explaining their reasons for remaining silent throughout the day.

City of Pittsfield Jazz Art winners include PHS student a 2nd place winner: Valerie Smalls and
Honorable mention: Kristen Bossio & Lauren Farry The award ceremony will be held in the Crane room at the Berkshire Museum on Thursday, April 12th. from 5:30 to 7:00p.m. The ceremony is open to the public, refreshments will be served, and the youth JAZZ ensemble will play.
