If you are a parent it is important for you to understand that you are your child's first and most important teacher!

* Family Literacy works with parents who need their GED, High School Diploma, to learn to speak English as another language or a refresher course to get into college.

* Parents can bring their young children with them to school. The children are in a child-friendly, learning-through-play centered environment.

* Parents take part in parenting classes.

* Families are visited at home once a month by staff as a way to help bring literacy into the home.

* Parents and children take part in activities together as a part of Interactive Literacy.
